Lookbook #22 - SCARF SPECIAL

BECAUSE YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY SCARVES..

Crocheting scarves, we all like to do that - right? That's why we decided to ask Carolien (@createdbycarolien) to help us with a lookbook containg scarves, and scarves only. So here it is, Lookbook SCARF SPECIAL. After all, autumn is coming and you can better get started, right? By using different yarns and the characteristic ‘Made by Carolien’ color scheme we find this scarf Special versatile and fun. With which of these scarves you’ll get started first?!

Do you like asymmetrical shapes? Then the Asymmetric Scarf is the one for you. With its cool shape and the use of the contrasting colored stitch, this scarf is a joy to wear and to look at. The Slanted Scarf is, just like the Asymmetric Scarf, also made with the Baby Fabulous. This scarf with angled tips has two colors and one of the two colors is used to give a beautiful texture to this scarf through the stitch. The third scarf to be worked with the Baby Fabulous is the Fringed Scarf. With its special stitches and the different colors a party to make and to combine with different outfits.

A scarf to disappear into, that's the Diamond Bobble Shawl. You’ll never want to take this baby off! There are two versions: the Elegant Diamond Bobble Shawl and the Diamond Bobble Scarf which is crocheted with our Charming yarn. Because of its large size of approx. 200 cm wide and the soft yarn you will not want to take this scarf off. Carolien designed it in two colors and two kits were also made. Of course you can also just buy the pattern and make it in one color. We are curious to see what you come up with!

The Pebbles Cowl is crocheted with the Serene and therefore is wonderfully soft and light. The stitches remind us of small pebbles, especially in combination with the beautiful natural colours. This basic fits in every wardrobe!

PEBBLES COWL

The Pebbles Cowl is made using our Serene and is therefore wonderfully soft and light. The stitches remind us of small pebbles, especially in combination with the beautiful natural colours. This basic fits in every wardrobe! The kit is available in 002 Cream with 096 Shark Grey and 002 Cream with 009 Limestone. Do you prefer to pick your own colors? Then just buy the pattern and choose from the 10 different colors that the Serene has to offer!

ELEGANT DIAMOND BOBBLE SHAWL

A scarf to disappear into, that's the Elegant Diamond Bobble Shawl. Super soft and super light by using the Elegant. It is available as a kit in 092 Pea Green and 089 Gold. Of course you can also just buy the pattern and make it Elegant in one of the ten colors. We are curious about your version!

Fringes and stripes.. Do I need to say more?! That's the Fringed Scarf. With its special stitches and the different colors a party to make and to combine with different outfits from your autumn wardrobe. Which three colors are you going to make yours in?

DIAMOND BOBBLE SHAWL

Nice, big and super soft: the Diamond Bobble Shawl is an asset to your autumn wardrobe. The blended effect of the soft Charming yarn gives you a super cozy effect. Carolien (@createdbycarolien) chose to make hers in 095 Soft Grey with 071 Riverside but you can also go for one color or choose two bright colors. The choice is yours!

MEET CAROLIEN

Hi! My name is Carolien. Together with my boyfriend and our 2 sons we live in a small village just above Alkmaar, the Netherlands. It's been almost 6 years since I started crocheting. I learned to crochet by watching a lot of You-Tube videos. My very first project was a hat for my oldest son, who was 1 year old at the time. The hat wasn't perfect, but it was cute.

After that, hardly a day went by that I didn't crochet. Especially the boys often ask if I want to crochet something for them, preferably amigurumi. That's the one thing I like to crochet the least. But every now and then I give in and crochet amigurumi for them.

Besides that I crochet a lot, I like to be outside, I like to walk and preferably through the forest or on the beach. Or I tie my inline skates and go for a spin through the polder. A few months ago I discovered audiobooks. And that goes very well with crochet. In addition to being creative with a crochet hook, I also occasionally find myself behind the sewing machine and make project bags.

Ever since I started crocheting I add my own touch to a design and make little adjustments to a pattern. Soon I started working without a pattern, at first just for myself. Later I started sharing the patterns on my blog and now also in a number of shops.

I prefer to crochet blankets and scarves or shawls. I share my creations on Instagram and Facebook, you can find me under the name ‘Created by Carolien’. I love stitches that give a nice structure to my crochet work.

For Yarn and Colors I was asked to design 5 scarves. All 5 shawls have a different shape, some of them have the same stitches. By using them slightly differently, it gives every scarf a different look.
