Lookbook #27 - FOREST ANIMALS

INTO THE WOODS

Are you ready for our third amigurumi lookbook? Meet the Forest Animals collection. Designed by three different designers and unique due to the use of both Yarn and Colors Must-have, together with our Elegant. Meet our new fuzzy and funny Forest friends!

This time designer Margreet @knotjeknus did not work alone, she got backed up by two members of the Yarn and Colors family: designer Manon (@petit_petite_nl) and lookbook creator Pleun (@studiowoordendraad). Each designer made two different Forest Animals and they can’t wait to show you!

Say hi to Donna Deer, William Wolf/Faye Fox, Boris Boar, Max Mole, Sal Squirrel and Rosie Rabbit! And we also have a little extra for you: two free patterns on our blog for both the scarf and the unique Yarn and Colors backpack. Use your leftovers to get your amigurumi’s ready for a trip to the forest ;-)

Like always, we’re offering a full kit (with the unique combo of Must-Have and the Elegant) for each design. There are two color options for each design. Of course, you can also purchase the pattern separately and choose your own colors.

Are you truly inspired and would you rather make all of the members of Forest Animals gang? You can! Purchase the Forest Animals Pattern Bundle which includes all six patterns, and get one for free!

Please use#YACForestAnimals when you share your creations on socials. We can't wait to see!

MEET MARGREET

Margreet, also known on Instagram as @Knotjeknus, is happily married and has three lovely daughters. She works as a pediatric nurse in the hospital. She learned how to crochet in 2016 by watching YouTube videos. She started making a number of trial (and error) Granny Squares and her very first real project was a beautiful big blanket in which she could use all kinds of stitches.

Not much later Margreet discovered Instagram and gained so much inspiration that her crochet to-do list became very long (sounds familiar, right?). She created her own account and regularly posted her own crochet creations there. She enjoyed the enthusiastic reactions she received.

Margreet is part of the group of designers with whom we love working together. She previously made all designs in Lookbook #10 Going Green for us, and helped design Lookbook #16 Zoo Animals and Lookbook #21 Farm Animals. For Lookbook #27 Forest Animals Margreet did not work alone, she got backed up by two members of the Yarn and Colors family: designer Manon (@petit_petite_nl) and lookbook creator Pleun (@studiowoordendraad). Each designer made two different Forest Animals and they can’t wait to show you! Share your Forest Animals with the hashtag #YACForestAnimals. We can’t wait to see your creations!

There are two kits available, one for a Red Sal and one for a Grey Sal. This handsome guy is very unique due to his tail, but also because he’s fluffy all over due to the use of the Must-Have and Elegant at the same time.

MEET MANON

Manon better known as Petit-Petite, started crocheting in 2013. She learned it by watching Youtube videos (sounds familiar right?). Her first project was a simple baby blanket, soon a stuffed animal followed and not long after she was unstoppable.

Manon shared her new projects on Instagram, where she can be found as @petit_petite_nl. Besides her fellow instagrammers, she also got approached by famous magazines and bloggers. That’s when her journey on designing patterns for others started. Besides Instagram, she started blogging on her own website www.petit-petite.nl in 2016. To celebrate the launch of her new website she designed a pattern in collaboration with Yarn and Colors. When the chance came to elaborate this partnership she seized the opportunity. Manon has been our in-house designer and a proud member of our Yarn and Colors family for quite some years now. She designed a lot of popular designs from fashion to home deco. Which one is your favorite?

One of the results from this collaboration is in front of you. In this lookbook you can find two patterns that have been designed by Petit-Petite for Yarn and Colors. Would you like to share your projects with us on social media, please use hashtag #yarnandcolors

DONNA DEER

Hi! Meet Donna Deer, the sweetest kid of the ‘Forest Animals’ gang. With her fuzzy belly, perky antlers and lots of spots on her head and back she’s irresistible, right?

Grab your 2.5 mm and 2.0 mm hook, choose the kit with the colors of your liking and get to work. Donna will appear in no time.

Donna is a design from Pleun (@studiowoordendraad) for the Forest Animals lookbook. Share your makes with #YACForestAnimals.

MAX MOLE

Hi! Have you met Max Mole yet? This cutie with his pink perky muzzle and his characteristic nails and hands is an absolute must-make. Did you know Max Mole is easy to make, even when you haven’t made that much amigurumi yet? If you know your amigurumi basics, Max is a perfect project for you.

Max’ body is made using both Must-Have and Elegant to give him a fuzzy look. He’s a design from Pleun (@studiowoordendraad) for the Forest Animals lookbook.

MEET PLEUN

Hi! I’m Pleun and I have been working for Yarn and Colors for a few years now. I am responsible for everything related to our monthly lookbooks and social media. I help designers with their patterns, come up with concepts and my tasks are mostly creative and organizational. In addition, I have my own webshop called ‘Studio Woord en Draad’.

I started crocheting and knitting years ago. When I left my job as a teacher and start working an office job, I missed being creative. That's why I decided to share my creations on Instagram, where you can find me as @studiowoordendraad. My webshop opened in 2018. I started selling size makers and personalized crochet hooks. It was a big hit, straight away!

For my own brand I try to make beautiful items that are also must-have tools. Being unique and designing/making everything myself is my goal. Right now I have many more items in my webshop such as personalized foldable scissors (from Yarn and Colors ofcourse), row markers, leather (knitting) needle stoppers, a leather measuring tape and pattern pouches.

I've worked with Margreet on her amigurumi lookbooks before and with Manon I work almost every day at Yarn and Colors HQ. This time we all got to work together as a design team! I got to design two Forest Animals: Max Mole and Donna Deer. What I mostly love about this lookbook is that we combined the Must-Have our fuzzy Elegant. It makes this lookbook unique!

Share your Forest Friends with the hashtag #YACForestAnimals. We can't wait to see your creations!
