Must-Have Mini CAL - Banana

Number six of our Must-Have Mini CAL is a curvy piece of happiness: let’s go bananas!

A favorite of many a child, and secretly ours too, right? Make a yummie banana and don’t forget to make a few slices as well. Little tip from us.. the slices are especially tasty on a peanut butter sandwich.

Banana
Colors: 014 Sunflower, 010 Vanilla and 007 Cigar.

Make a mr using 007. Sc 4 in the mr and switch to color 014.
Round 1: *sc 2 in every st* x 4 using 014 (8)
Round 2: *sc 1, sc 2 in next st* x 4 (12)
Round 3: *sc 2, sc 2 in next st* x 4 (16)
Round 4: sc2tog, sc 5, *sc 2 in next st* x2, sc 5, sc2tog (16)
Round 5: sc 16 around
Round 6: sc 17 around (so you work 1 extra st)
Repeat round 4 - 6 another 5 times
Round 22: *sc 2, sc2tog * x 4 (12)
Round 23: sc 12 around
Round 24: sc2tog, sc 3, *sc 2 in next st* x 2, sc 3, sc2tog (12)
Round 25: sc2tog x 6 (6)
Round 26: sc 6 around. Switch to color 007 (6)
Round 27 and 28: sc 6 around
Fasten off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
Baste the yarn through the 6 sts of the last round and pull carefully (not too tight!)
Tie a knot and weave the ends in.
Slightly bend the banana, with the increases on the outside.

Banana slice:
Make a mr using 010. Sc 4 in the mr.
Round 1: *sc 2 in every st* x 4 (8)
Round 2: *sc 1, sc 2 in next st* x 4 (12)
Round 3: sc 12 around
Fasten off.
Embroider 3 tiny stripes on the slice using a strand of 007.
Weave in all ends.

You can use up color 014 Sunflower, we won’t be needing that one later on in the CAL.
We will be using 010 Vanilla and 007 Cigar later. Make sure you have enough yarn left in those colors.
