Must-Have Mini CAL 2 - Pumpkin

A vegetable that makes you warm, and in our opinion definitely a winner during autumn and winter: the pumpkin.
We prefer ours in a delicious cup of soup. You can also scoop it out, carve a scary face in it, and use it as a jack-‘o-lantern.

Pumpkin:
Please note! You will use two balls of yarn for the pumpkin!
Make a MR using 019. Sc 6 in MR
Round 1: *sc 2 in every st* x 6 (12)
Round 2: *sc 1, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (18)
Pull the cast on tail to the outside through the middle of the MR, to the right side of your work.
Round 3: *sc 2, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (24)
Round 4: *sc 3, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (30)
Round 5: *sc 4, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (36)
Round 6: *sc 5, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (42)
Round 7: *sc 6, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (48)
Round 8: *sc 7, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (54))
Round 9 - 19: sc 54 around
Round 20: *sc 7, sc2tog* x 6 (48)
Round 21: *sc 6, sc2tog* x 6 (42)
Round 22: *sc 5, sc2tog* x 6 (36)
Round 23: *sc 4, sc2tog* x 6 (30)
Round 24: *sc 3, sc2tog* x 6 (24)

Fasten off with a sl st and cut the yarn, leaving a tail of approx. 40”.
Baste the yarn through the loops (6) of the last round and pull tight.
Insert the needle through the middle of these 6 stitches, through the pumpkin, until it comes out in the middle of the MR.
Leave the yarn on the outside and insert again (bottom up) through the pumpkin.
Pull the yarn to create one of the characteristic lines on the pumpkin.
Repeat this 5 more times, so your pumpkin will have a total of 6 lines. Tie a firm knot with the cast on tail and weave in all ends.

Make a MR using 007. Sc 6 in MR
Round 1: *sc 2 in every st* x 6 (12)
Fasten off with a sl st and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
Sew the base of the stem on top of the pumpkin.

You can use all of both colors in this pattern. We won’t be using them again in the CAL.
